He was a friend whom she needed, and it can be said the same for Aled too. Frances started to be dress confidently and stopped hiding behind her excuses and shame. Reading about Frances and Aled sharing their love for clothes was the highlight of this book. Adding behind-the-scenes of the podcast was what made me like this book better. If we remove the podcast part from this book, then it would have been a bland story.

Creating agender episodes and leaving people guessing about the author’s identity was the plus point of the show. Universe City was not anything special, but its content stood out for me. Only in the end do we see if they come out unscathed or not. You know, fame is a double-edged sword, and it was the testing ground for Aled and Frances’s friendship. Being Aled’s friend and being a part of Universe City was something she never expected in reality, but she was ecstatic to be of some help until everything blew online. Frances wore her favorite clothes, mostly cartoon pajamas, whenever she hung out with Aled. I can just repeat that I extremely loved the book.What are the odds when you find by chance that the creator of your favorite podcast lives right next door and is the silent guy who never speaks aloud? Frances wore lots of masks at school- the head girl, nerd, focused student, etc. There was only one thing I was absolutely not okay with, but that’s a character’s fault and it fits her character, so I wouldn’t say it is a negative thing to say about Radio Silence. Romance is nice and good, but the friendships portrayed in Radio Silence could also exist in the real world. And what I maybe loved the most, is that everything is about friendship. All of the main characters had a great character arc, developing from awesome to even more awesome. The plot was also great and plausible, made even better through the characters. It matches with the whole atmosphere of the story. I read the book in two sitting, because it was such a true, fascinating and realistic read and Alice Oseman has a very fitting writing style. I could identify with so much during the whole story, because I’m a lot on the Internet as well, I saw facettes of myself in every character and that’s what made it so real and wonderful to me. A lot oft he story is about the Internet, the good and bad sides it has and everything is so real. The characters are just the way they are, and basically everyone just accepts them as they are, they are normal teenagers living teenagers‘ lives. And though she’s bi and some of her friends are gay or lesbian, this is not a coming out story, but sexuality is just handled like something normal (which it is).
